展覽論述 Exhibition Concept 這件名為「立體切割」的攝影裝置，是藝術家Laure Catugier在高雄駁二駐村期間的部份成果，該裝置覆蓋了其工作室附近、一座臨海小型現代主義建築的窗戶，作品由藝術家抵達高雄後拍攝的影像拼貼而成，呈現部份戰後以混凝土為主的建築風貌。
「立體切割」是一種將三維固體切割成特定形狀的藝術手法，特別應用於石雕，而在此作品中的石材指的是混凝土。
As part of my residency in Kaohsiung, I am presenting a photographic installation entitled ‘Stereotomy’, which covers the windows of a small modernist building on the waterfront near my studio. This photographic work is made up of images taken in Kaohsiung since my arrival, representing fragments of post-war architecture, mostly in concrete. These images have been then assembled in the form of a photocollage.
Stereotomy is the art of cutting three-dimensional solids into specific shapes. It’s used especially in the art of stonecutting, the stone here being concrete.
